The Dream Thieves is, as another reviewer has noted, definitely trippy. The title is extremely telling for this novel, it does in fact revolve around dream thieves and dream thieving. Between these aspects and a number of others in the book, Stiefvater definitely delved deeper into fantasy than I can recall her doing so previously. The story is thought-provoking and entertaining, but it also raised a number of questions in regards to specific characters and the direction of the series. I am rather looking forward to the next installment to see where Stiefvater is taking us. I will, however, say that I did not enjoy this one quite as much as the first. I found there to not be enough of Blue and her crazy family and I did not care for the Gray Man's parts (I am never a fan of additional characters outside the main ones having a POV included). But I may have felt a bit differently had the holidays not caused me to take so long reading this--no matter the book, the longer I spend with it the less likely I am to be thrilled with it. BUT, yes, I did enjoy this one and I do think it worthy of the full stars rounded up. I look forward to book three.
