This was a thoroughly entertaining book. I loved Vowell's dry wit and her true love for American presidential history is catching. I have never been very interested in American history, I suppose because it makes one look more closely at the present time--and that is just not wise (next stop-nut house). But Vowell's love and enthusiasm have made me much more interested in such history, to which she should be given great credit. While reading this, and after, I cannot help but want to visit Washington, D.C. once more and look at it with a new perspective. Very enjoyable, you learn while laughing.
