The Witch's Betrayal was an entertaining story revolving around how Naji became disfigured. It also expanded upon his actual relationship with Leila, the rather unlikable river witch. I enjoyed reading from Naji's perspective and gaining further insight into him as a character, in fact I think I like him more now. It also explains his hesitancy to use magic that involves fire, which we see briefly in The Assassin's Curse.
