Much like the other Finishing School novel, this one grew stale for me as well. I do honestly enjoy the premise, the characters and the overall setting but the over-the-top style of writing for these books ends up boring and tiring me. Because of the style I do in fact enjoy the beginnings but by the end I am very happy to be moving on to another book. It makes me feel as though this series would have more success with me if they were short stories or novellas. Some positives: I find the growing love triangle interesting, if only because I like Soap as a character. I also continue to enjoy the steampunk elements and the inclusion of features from the Parasol Protectorate series. Overall if you enjoyed the first one you will enjoy this one. I do wish I could enjoy them all the way through, unfortunately they do grow a bit tiresome.
