I read High Five not long before reading Hot Six and I think that may be a mistake. If you read two Stephenie Plum books close together you can more clearly see the similarities and repetitive features of the series. Many of the same events, with different twists though, happen in Hot Six as they did in High Five. Stephenie is still her crazy self, albeit even dumber than usual in this installment to the point of calling her an idiot out loud while reading, and the book is still funny with lots of sexual tension. But Hot Six lacked a little focus and had too much going on, much of it repetitive in some way or another. But it still came away entertaining, just not as much as others in the series have been.
