This was a cute story, albeit chick-lit and lacking true depth, about a girl trying to essentially detox from a love she has had for two years. Her best friend Garrett is the boy she is in love with and has been their entire friendship and it has had consequences for Sadie. She has been so close to and so much a part of Garrett's life that she has pretty much lost herself. In this book Sadie attempts to overcome her love for Garrett and to find herself, something that is more intertwined that she even realizes. Overall the characters are well-drawn and believable and it makes it difficult to figure out to root for or against the Garrett situation. Getting Over Garrett Delaney is in the end a story about friendship and finding yourself. A nice quick read.
