I did not enjoy this installment of the series quite as much as the first. This book lagged in many parts, especially those without the werewolf characters. Briggs vampires are simply not as entertaining as others I have come across and they leave me wishing for the werewolf characters all the more. Also, this book felt somewhat preachy. I wonder why the change by Briggs? Perhaps she is trying to expand the character of Mercy, but if that is the case leave her be! Overall, the storyline had its ups and downs and did not leave me overly anxious for book 3.
Note: The cover of the book is absolutely awful. Other than the character having a wrench in her hand it has nothing to do with the book or really the character of Mercy. Please, I beg you publishers, stop letting men have control over cover art--all paranormal covers are turning into slut fests.
