It is rather interesting to read a novel set in the holiday season when it is nearly summer. Regardless I found the novel up to par with the rest of the In Death series. The characters in the series are like old friends at this point and they are a welcome reprieve after less satisfying reads. As always, Robb manages to mix humor with the stresses of being a cop dealing with the cruelty of psycho humans. And Roarke brings a great presence to the story, as always. After reading this you may never think of the Twelve Days of Christmas quite the same.
