The Hobbit or There and Back Again

The Hobbit or There and Back Again - J.R.R. Tolkien The book grew on me by the end, however the beginning was rough-going. I had difficulty adjusting to the odd writing style and the numerous different hobbits, elves, dwarves etc. differences to keep track of. In addition, the main character, Bilbo, can be rather annoying and had the book been from a different character's perspective it may have appealed to me more. I've never been one to read this sort of book so I had to change my mindset a bit. In the end, I actually liked the book somewhat, although whether I liked it enough to read Lord of the Rings I do not yet know.
