The first half of the book felt a bit slow and tedious to me. However, the latter half was what I've come to expect from the series and I enjoyed it. There were numerous character introductions in this book, which is somewhat rare unless the characters are "bad guys" who are going to disappear by the end. However, I think some of these are going to stick around. I will say this, I have grown tired of Dallas' childhood issues. Yes, I'm sure it was tragic, but I cannot grasp why she would not be able to get over it by now--at least at a level to not let it impact her like it continues to do so.
