After the verbose and ultimately boring pages I have thus far read, I began to wonder if this book would be a waste of time. The "epic" nature of this book appears to only be in the number of pages, which I can guarantee could have easily been cut in half. Unless you have a deep interest in Indian politics and issues of the 1800s or an ass of a "romantic hero" (see this review
which has a number of passages that prove this "hero" is not worth waiting for or slogging through 1200 pages for), I would be hesitant to recommend this one. Due to the novel's length I did not read enough to warrant a rating, though ultimately I think I would have given it a 1. Abandoned.
