An interesting short story which makes me more curious for The Winner's Curse. I did enjoy the element of the story involving the god of snow and the moon god, makes me wonder how the gods play a role overall--if they do at all. This, at least, tells me it is a polytheistic mythology and that is always MUCH more entertaining than monotheism. I did find myself changing the arrangement of a few sentences while reading so that could potentially be a problem in the full-length novel. Hopefully
I am just being picky at the moment. Overall I am intrigued, which is the best you can hope for with a short.
**After reading The Winner's Curse: I recommend reading this after
the first book in the series, it will mean a bit more.**
